Wall Mural Installation in Lighthouse Point, FL

The short answer

We install printed wall murals in Lighthouse Point homes, starting with on-site measuring so you order the right size and the image is centered where you want it. We prep the wall, let the material acclimate to South Florida humidity, and hang each panel with careful alignment so seams are hard to spot.

A wall mural turns one surface into the focal point of a room, but only if the panels line up, the seams disappear, and the image lands exactly where you pictured it. We install printed wallpaper murals in Lighthouse Point homes, about a mile northeast of our Pompano Beach shop. Because we're that close, we can come out to measure, look at your wall, and talk through the layout before you place an order. Then we return for a focused installation day. Whether it's a botanical scene in a dining room, a skyline behind a bed, or a soft pattern in a child's room, the goal is the same: a single, continuous image that looks painted on.

Planning the Mural Before You Order

Most mural problems start before the first panel goes up. A mural is printed to a specific size, so a wrong measurement can leave a gap at the ceiling or cut off the part of the image you care about most. We measure width and height at several points, because walls and ceilings are rarely perfectly square.

We also look at what's on the wall: outlets, switches, vents, windows, door trim and built-ins. Then we help you decide where the focal point of the image should sit, whether that's centered over a headboard, visible above a sofa, or clear of a TV mount.

  • Exact wall dimensions, measured at multiple points
  • Recommended extra margin (bleed) for trimming at edges
  • Placement of the image's key elements relative to furniture
  • Notes on obstacles that affect panel layout

Preparing Walls for a Seamless Image

A mural shows every flaw underneath it. Nail holes, patched areas, heavy texture and old paint ridges can read through the print, especially with smooth or matte finishes. Before hanging, we fill and sand imperfections and confirm the surface is clean and sound.

We then apply a primer made for wallcoverings. It helps the adhesive grip evenly, lets us slide panels into alignment, and makes future removal much easier on your drywall. If the wall has loose paint or a glossy finish, we address that first so the mural doesn't lift later.

Working With South Florida Humidity

Broward County has no fully dry season. From May through October it's hot, humid and wet, with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, while November into April is warmer and drier. Paper and vinyl murals can expand or shrink slightly as moisture levels change, which can open or overlap seams if the material isn't handled with that in mind.

We let panels acclimate in the room before installation and ask that your air conditioning run normally beforehand. We also choose adhesive and working time to suit the conditions that day. If you're planning work during hurricane season, which runs June 1 to November 30, we'll schedule around storm forecasts so the room stays climate-controlled while the adhesive cures.

What Installation Day Looks Like

We start by laying out the panels in order and checking the print for color consistency and any defects before anything touches the wall. Then we snap a plumb line so the first panel is perfectly vertical; every other panel follows from it.

Each panel is matched to its neighbor, smoothed to remove air pockets, and trimmed cleanly at the ceiling, baseboard and around outlets and trim. We wipe away excess adhesive as we go, reinstall cover plates, and clean up so the room is ready to use. A single accent wall typically takes part of a day, depending on size and prep.

Peel-and-Stick or Traditional Paste?

Many murals are sold in both formats, and the right one depends on how long you plan to keep it. Peel-and-stick works well for rentals, kids' rooms or designs you may change in a few years, but it's less forgiving on textured walls and in high humidity. Traditional paste-the-wall or pre-pasted murals tend to hold better long-term and allow more adjustment during hanging.

If you haven't ordered yet, we're glad to look at the product you're considering and tell you how it's likely to perform on your wall.

  2. Straight Answers About Materials

Grasscloth, vinyl, murals and peel-and-stick each behave differently in humid rooms, on ceilings and in direct sun. We'll explain the tradeoffs so you can pick a product that fits the space and how you live in it.

  3. Respect for Your Home

We cover floors, move and protect furniture as needed, and keep the work area organized. At the end of the day, we clean up so your home is livable while the project is underway.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (561) 944-3314 and we’ll talk it through.

Should I measure my wall myself before ordering a mural?

You can, but we recommend letting us measure. Murals are printed to size, and small errors in width, height or out-of-square walls can affect how the image fits.

Can you install a mural I already bought?

Yes. Have it delivered to your home and keep it in the room where it will be installed so it can acclimate. We'll inspect the panels before hanging.

Will a mural work on a textured wall?

Light texture may be fine with some materials, but heavier texture often shows through. We can skim-coat or smooth the wall first so the image looks clean.

Can a mural go in a bathroom?

It can, as long as the material is rated for moisture and the room has good ventilation. We'll help you check whether your chosen product is suitable.

Do you serve areas near Lighthouse Point?

Yes. We also install murals in Hillsboro Beach, Deerfield Beach, Coconut Creek, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Boca Raton.

How hard is a mural to remove later?

With a proper wallcovering primer underneath, most murals come off far more easily. Peel-and-stick versions are generally the simplest to remove.
