Mural Installation for Boca Raton Homes

The short answer

We install printed wall murals in Boca Raton homes. Before hanging any panels, we measure precisely, prepare the wall, and plan the image layout. Because humidity affects how paper and adhesive behave, we let materials acclimate in your air-conditioned home and schedule with the wet season and hurricane season in mind.

A wall mural only works if the image lines up. One panel that drifts a quarter inch can break a horizon line, split a face, or leave a visible seam across the middle of a room. We install wall murals in Boca Raton homes from our base in Pompano Beach, about 7 miles south. We handle the measuring, wall prep, panel sequencing and trimming so the finished wall reads as one continuous image. This page covers how mural installation works, what your walls need beforehand, and how South Florida's humidity affects timing.

How Mural Installation Differs From Regular Wallpaper

Standard wallpaper repeats, so a small mismatch can often be absorbed somewhere along the wall. A mural is one large image split into numbered panels, and every panel has exactly one correct position. Our job is to make sure the most important part of the picture lands where you want it. That might be a tree trunk beside a headboard, a skyline centered over a sofa, or a pattern break that clears a light switch.

Before anything goes on the wall, we lay out the panels in order and check them against the wall's actual measurements. Walls are rarely perfectly square, so we set a true vertical line rather than trusting a corner or door frame. We also confirm how much extra image, called bleed, the print includes for trimming at the ceiling, baseboard and side edges.

  • Paste-the-wall murals, where adhesive goes on the wall instead of the panel
  • Pre-pasted and unpasted paper murals
  • Peel-and-stick murals for renters or rooms you may change later
  • Large-format custom prints made from your own photo or artwork

Getting Your Wall Ready

A mural shows every flaw in the surface behind it. Nail holes, patched drywall, glossy paint and heavy texture can all show through or weaken the bond. When we look at the wall, we check for:

  • Cracks, dents or old anchors that need filling and sanding
  • Paint sheen, since high-gloss finishes may need a primer so adhesive can grip
  • Texture that may need skimming smooth, especially under thin or light-colored murals
  • Signs of moisture, such as bubbling paint near windows, exterior walls or bathrooms
  • Outlets, vents and switches that will need careful cutouts

Humidity, Weather and Scheduling in Boca Raton

South Florida has no fully dry season. From May through October it is hot, humid and wet, with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. November into April is warmer and drier. Moisture in the air affects how quickly adhesive sets and how much paper-based panels expand. If panels are hung before they adjust to the room, they can shrink as they dry and leave small gaps at the seams.

To prevent this, we ask that your air conditioning run steadily for a day or so before installation and for a few days afterward. That keeps temperature and humidity stable while the adhesive cures. We also open the mural packaging in the room so the material can acclimate first.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. Mural work happens indoors, but storm prep, shutters and power outages that shut off air conditioning can all disrupt curing. If a storm is forecast near your installation date, we will talk with you about moving it. Many homeowners who plan ahead choose the drier months of the year.

What to Expect on Installation Day

Most single-wall murals take part of a day, depending on size, wall condition and how many cutouts are needed. We protect floors and nearby furniture, confirm the panel order with you, and mark a plumb line. Then we hang panels in sequence, smoothing each one and matching it to the last. Edges are trimmed with fresh blades so the cuts stay clean at the ceiling and baseboard.

Please clear the wall and about six feet of floor space in front of it before we arrive. If you have not ordered your mural yet, send us the wall dimensions before you buy. We can tell you whether the print size and bleed will cover the space.

We cover floors, move and protect furniture as needed, and keep the work area organized. At the end of the day, we clean up so your home is livable while the project is underway.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (561) 944-3314 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you install a mural I bought online?

Yes. Send us the product details and your wall measurements before you order if you can. We will check that the print size includes enough bleed for your wall.

Will a mural work on textured walls?

Light texture can sometimes work with thicker materials. Heavier texture usually shows through, so we may recommend skimming the wall smooth first.

Why does humidity matter for murals?

Paper panels expand in damp air and shrink as they dry. Steady air conditioning before and after installation helps prevent gaps at the seams.

Is peel-and-stick a good choice in South Florida?

It can be, especially for renters. It bonds best to smooth, clean, properly cured paint in a climate-controlled room.

Can a mural go in a bathroom?

Some vinyl-based murals handle moisture well, but the room needs good ventilation. We will look at the space and the material before recommending it.

How long before I can put furniture back against the wall?

We generally suggest waiting a day or two so the adhesive can cure without pressure or rubbing on the panels.
